The Hull Redevelopment Authority (HRA) continues to move forward developing an urban renewal plan which, when finalized by the authority, will require approval from the Selectboard before being submitted to the State. Urban renewal plans are designed to address blighted, deteriorated, or underutilized areas in a community, with the goal of revitalizing them and improving the overall quality of life for residents. The HRA’s currently stated goal is as follows: to create “a sense of place in our community through development that provides tax revenue, open space recreation, job growth, improved business environment, event venues, and parking for Nantasket Beach within an effective and efficient traffic pattern for Hull citizens and visitors.”
In recent meetings, all members of the HRA presented their visions for the future of the property. These presentations are available for public viewing at the “Meeting Recordings” link on the HRA website (www.hra02045.com), providing transparency and insight into the authority’s decision-making process.
Currently, the HRA is awaiting the final draft of the property’s real estate and amenities analysis, which will provide valuable data and insights to inform the urban renewal plan.
Looking ahead, the HRA is actively planning for the utilization of the property this summer. Plans include parking solutions, vendor opportunities, and community events to engage residents and visitors alike.
